Saint John of God Hospital Stillorgan, Co Dublin

Saint John of God Hospital, an independent 200 bed acute psychiatric teaching hospital, is one of the leading European providers in mental healthcare treatment services. The Hospital currently provides specialist services for adults in psychotic disorders, eating disorders, substance misuse, addictions, psychiatry of later life in addition to the specialist adolescent in-patient assessment and treatment unit, commissioned in August 2005.

The Hospital holds a certificate of registration with the Mental Health Commission as an Approved Centre in compliance with the new Mental Health Act 2001 and is also accredited by CHKS Healthcare Accreditation & Quality Unit, U.K. We are affiliated with University College Dublin for undergraduate and postgraduate education and Dublin City University for postgraduate education. In addition, our Postgraduate Medical Training scheme in Psychiatry is fully accredited by the Irish College of Psychiatry of Ireland.

Registrar (Post Membership)

The successful candidate will work with Dr Bernadette Mangan, Clinical Director, within a multidisciplinary team and will have a general adult psychiatry caseload. This is an excellent opportunity to gain further acute inpatient and medical administration experience.

Applicants must:

• hold the MRC Psych qualification
• be at post membership level
• ideally be available 30 June 2011 and
• have Irish healthcare experience.
