Celebrating Staff Wellbeing & Recognition

This week, St John of God University Hospital marked a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to employee wellbeing and workplace culture.

On Tuesday, April 30th, we celebrated National Workplace Wellbeing Day, dedicating time and space to acknowledge the incredible contribution of our staff. Throughout the day, a series of initiatives were delivered to promote and support employee wellbeing — including access to mental, physical, and financial health resources. We extend a sincere thank you to our HR and Health Promotion teams for leading this effort and creating such an engaging and meaningful experience for colleagues across the hospital.

In alignment with this focus, we are proud to announce the reaccreditation of the KeepWell Mark™ under IBEC’s enhanced framework — an achievement that reflects our structured approach and embedded culture of workplace wellbeing. This accreditation recognises the systems, policies, and daily practices that support the health, safety, and wellbeing of our people.

To further mark the occasion, we were delighted to attend the IBEC Wellbeing Awards Lunch on May 1st, where St John of God University Hospital was named among IBEC’s Leading in Wellbeing Top 100 Workplaces 2025. Colleagues from HR, Health Promotion, Nursing, Communications, Occupational Therapy, and Senior Management represented the hospital at the event — an opportunity to connect with other organisations and hear insights from inspiring speakers such as Dr Brian Pennie and Clare McKenna.

These recognitions are a testament to the collective efforts across all departments to foster a positive and supportive workplace. We are proud of the collaborative culture that underpins this work and grateful to every team member who contributes to making St John of God University Hospital a compassionate, progressive, and respectful place to work.
